Just for Fun
World Nations Day Lourdes is fortunate
to have students from many different backgrounds and nationalities.
Once a year we celebrate with native costume and food and many parents
help in preparing meals from around the world.
Pedalpalooza In the spring students are
encouraged to bring their bikes to school for a bike rodeo. A parent
provides his collection of exotic bikes including a micro bike, an extra
tall bike, a bike that steers from both the front and back wheels, a
double bike (like a car), and a bike that powers an electric car
track.
Catholic Schools Week Catholic School Week is
usually celebrated the last week in January with special themes each
day. Kids get to dress out of uniform and participate in Brain Bowl,
a trivia competition among grade levels. A special mass is
celebrated on the Friday of Catholic Schools week honoring the ministry of
Catholic education.
Donuts with Dudes/Muffins with Moms This event
takes place once a month. The parent or guardian is invited to join
his or her child in a small breakfast before mass on Friday and to sit
with his or her child during mass.
